| Selmer Picc. I've been playing for a number of years and a few years ago I purchased a Selmer Picc. I have stayed mainly with the B flat pipe but recently went to the A pipe.I have found it much easier but am having some tone problems, i.e. flat. Tube is inserted all the way so should be getting a more sharp sound. And now am in the process of transposing all my B flat music. Any help on these items? jckibble Last edited by jckibble : 11-30-2007 at 11:17 AM. |

If this is the case, you need to get a different leadpipe. Transposing for the A trumpet can be done several ways depending on what parts that you are reading. Trumpet in D parts on the A trumpet I read as baritone horn bass clef with 1 flat in the key signature. Trumpet in C parts on the A picc I read as plain bass clef with 3 flats. |

| Re: Selmer Picc. Hi, I'm with Rowuk on this one. I'm not sure what the problem is with the A side. I found that my schilke piccolo b flat side was a little on the low side so I had the leadpipe cut a very small amount. I transpose C parts like Rowuk. On the D parts I transpose up a 4th or down a 5th. Good luck Tom Last edited by thomashooten : 12-03-2007 at 07:21 PM. |

![]() | Re: Selmer Picc. Assuming you are using the stock pipes, does your mouthpiece go further in on the Bb pipe than the A pipe? That is the only thing I can think of that might cause the A side to be flat. The stock pipes are pretty much straight tubes, so if need be, and the receiver is ok, the end of the pipe could be cut off. |
