Simba Trumpets Hey guys, has anyone ever heard of Simba trumpets? My brother just picked one up cheap in a discount store and it really is not a bad horn, especially for a student in the early years. Just curious, Thanks, Greg

Re: Simba Trumpets I have never held one...never played one...just only hear stories. Funniest one I heard... A guy was selling one of their piccolo tpts on ebay. Part of his description was something like..."these instruments are put together with only the finest camel spit and flour paste available".... At least it was an honest ad. He knew what he had bought and wasn't going to pull the wool over on someone else. ha.

Re: Simba Trumpets I bought one of these dirt cheap as it was a good deal for the case. The instrumnet was not bad. A bit flimsy but it played in tune. I gave it away to someone and he still plays it with a samba band. The valves are rubbish though. But for free it was not a bad deal.

Re: Simba Trumpets One of my student's mom bought him a new one and it wasn't bad at first , then ... #1 the felts came off of the valves #2 the "corks" came out of the water keys #3 the valves became sluggish ( no matter how much you oiled them) #4 the pinky hook just came off one day while he was playing it in band. He went back to playing his used Bundy model. Actually the best thing about the whole deal was the case which is probably better quality than the trumpet. This has been the my only experience with a Simba trumpet.
