Re: "SLB" on Schilke mouthpiece receiver

I worked at Schilke's in the '70's and never saw such a thing. B series was B1 through B9. A tuning bell would have the letter 'L' stamped after the model number. Is there a standard model number stamped as well? Sometimes the guys working there would do custom things to horns earmarked for themselves. It could be someone's initials.

Do they offer tours of their facility?

I have a Schilke S22CL, on the mouthpiece receiver you can see S22CL, but on the Schilke Warranty it states S22CLB - because there is a Beryllium bell, as my custom order.
The same goes with my S32L horn, on Warranty you can read S32LB - the same bell here "Beryllium".

Later on I figured out it was changed. So the mouthpiece receiver is not original SLB could stand for millions of things, initials included. There is no model designation.

Thanks everyone
