?? Sonare 800 anyone ??

Just wanted to know if anyone had been familar with the Sonare 800 trumpet... I've been offered a chance to purchase one and I wanted to know other personal views of this horn. Iwant to know if this is a wise investment, and the cost of a used one from your personal experence. Thanks, Jai.

Nice pro trumpet! Plays a lot like a standard Bach Strad! If you can try it before you buy, do it! If not, buy, and sell if it's doesen't fit your playing! It's a nice horn, and they are not too expencive! Pricing from $1,599.00 for the 800 in Lacquer to $1,699.00 in silver.

Re: ?? Sonare 800 anyone ??

Yeah, I've only been hearing positive reviews on the 800 and 900 from guys in here and at another trumpet website. rettepnoj says they play like a Bach 37. Very interesting, I didn't know this. And, some of the guys recommending this horn are jazz trumpeters, too. Hmmm...

The Strad 37 is a great all round horn! Same as the Sonare:) The Sonare is called The Bach Killer though:)

I played on one this summer and in my opinion it was very similar to my Bach 37. Very nice all-around player and to me seemed well worth the $1,500 +/- asking price.

I have no idea what they go for used, and as for the wisdom of investing in it, that's totally up to you.

Re: ?? Sonare 800 anyone ??

I got one a year ago and love it. It's basically a Bach 37 clone but comes with a water key on the third valve slide. Love the valve action, slotting, and tone quality. Has a great dynamic range. I was actually on my way to get a Schilke when I came across this horn and haven't looked back!

Re: ?? Sonare 800 anyone ??

Cost of a used one is probably going to vary all over the map since it's a relatively newer horn. But as one example, one closed on fleaBay this morning for $665 US - looking like new but with a bell ding and no case.

Re: ?? Sonare 800 anyone ??

I played a Bach 37 for 23 years. It hasn't been out of the case since I got my Sonare 800 2 1/2 years ago.
