Stage 1 Advice

Hey guys, I have talked to felix extensively but seek all of your opinions.
If I was to go custom, and use this Stage 1 for almost all lead, with a Cali model, what configuration would you suggest?? Thanks
Greg

Re: Stage 1 Advice

all lead? I bet Felix probably recommended the Cali Light with the copper beadless bell? Seems to have the best projection, and reverse projection out there(you can really hear yourself.) Anyway...I bet you the Cali Light would be the best way to go. What did Felix suggest? I'd trust him-definitely knows what he's talking about...and what a guy! :)

Mine will be here Friday....:) :)

Re: Stage 1 Advice

You got my "two cents" already. No matter what you get it will be top notch from NYTC.

Re: Stage 1 Advice

I agree too. Trust Felix, he knows his horns better than anyone out there.
For all lead I would recomment the Cali Light also, great horn, easy to play, great projection.

Re: Stage 1 Advice

the best advice i have is to get a new york model and send it to me im sure whatever you get will be awesome. ive never heard one bad thing from anyone about nytc products or service. good luck w/your purchase. sorry to sort of thread jack here, but "the buzz", i was wondering what your thoughts were on your calicchio copper. they're sure pretty to look at.

No hijacking here, let's just say I am picking up a hitch- hiker! The Calicchio has been a great experience over the years. It plays wide open and free with a rich full tone. Bore size is ML, but with the 3/9 set up, it felt more like a Large bore! Valves aren't the best but tolerable but overall I am/was quite haPPy with it. Switched over to the Stage 1's for the purpose of getting a smaller, lighter horn that gives me more resistance from the Trumpet Wall! The Stage 1 's and NYTC/ Felix are absolutely the BEST Horn/people I have played/worked with in the Trumpet Maker's World!
