I have two slides for my C horn and 3 for my Bb. As far as the C:

Square slide - More traditional sound and feel, very solid intonation and slotting. I am able to just play with this slide and not worrya bout response or finding the center of the tone. A little resistance, but not in a bad way. This slide really makes the horn blend.

Rounded slide - Much more complex sound, prob due to the sterling silver. Very open blow but still retains the solid feel. This slide makes the horn able to project more easily but still bledn when played in a relaxed fashion. I also feel able to "bend" notes more on this slide.

I have not decided which slide I like best yet, but others who have heard me like both, they just say they are different. I am amazed how much just a slide changes these horns.
