Stage One NY7 Door Prize at Rocky Mountain Trumpet Fest

The New York Trumpet Company donated a new Stage One NY7 Bb trumpet as one of the door prizes at this year's Rocky Mountain Trumpet Fest. You have to register to be eligible, but you don't have to attend the entire conference and be there for the final drawing. You can see the trumpet at http://www.rockymountaintrumpetfest.org/Prizes.htm and browse the site to see the great line up of performances and clinics that we'll have this year. The trumpet and the related leather, double-case are a $4,000 retail value.

For the first time we'll include clinics oriented toward high school trumpeters, including preparing for All State auditions and some things to consider in evaluating college trumpet programs.

Can I register but not go to the conference? That would really make my day. I live too far to get there.

Why not Detroit? That way I can finally meet Chuck Willard, ( a native there ), and perhaps several other of the frequent posters here. It will only be a 3 hour drive for me, from Grand Rapids, and is sufficiently central to our two nations to be convenient to most of us.

I would love to organize something in that area. It would have to be this summer though because right now I am living in Alberta. There are tons of fantastic players in Toronto and Montreal that I am sure would love to come to a trumpet convention and hang.

Re: Stage One NY7 Door Prize at Rocky Mountain Trumpet Fest

Good Luck with organizing a trumpet fest. It's not easy to organize one of these things but if you start early and get the commercial people on-board with commitments for exhibit tables etc. you'll have a good start. One of the keys to our success was getting the University trumpet studios on board with performances and master classes. Adding guest artists helps bring people in the door. If you can find a geek to manage a web site, that would be a big help. I'm still looking.

We're charging $25.00 for the entire weekend with exhibits, several concerts and master classes, and, so far, we've managed to lose money every year.

BTW, if you want to register and pay the $25.00 (PayPal works) your ticket will go in the door prize hopper even if you don't show up.
