![]() | Re: STicky valve driving me nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 I will probably get slated for this but i had a problm with a sticking 3rd valve on a bach. I dried the valve and inside of casing, coated with liquid brasso, and replaced the valve and worked up and down for a while, added a bit more brasso and worked so more. Then thoroughly wased as usual and used oil in the usual way - all was fine. It must have worked off a fine layer at the point tof distorsion but didnt touch the other areas - dont try this unless you get some others coroberating it. But it worked for me. goo luck |

![]() | Re: STicky valve driving me nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Heck you could try Magic Valve. I would not recommend it in your pro horn just in case but a student horn or on slide it has been great. Did my old King 601 and Bach TR200 that always had sticky first valves for some reason. Well cleaned the valves and slide and both horns are much faster and no longer stick. The guy who came up with this was apparently using it on the aluminum and magnesium Porsche parts on vintage cars to clean them when replacement parts were simply not available. SO thought I try it. Seems to work well. Also did the slides on my old UMI Benge I got on clearance, that just never were good and they are just fine now.

![]() | Re: Sticky valve driving me nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not so sure how aggressive the Magic Valve is, as I stated my apprehension of using it on Pro Horn Valves. I do know that my horns I did showed not wear mark removal. SO the bright spots all remained just the darker stuff was gone. Not sure about the casings (a little harder to look at) but same with slides. They just got lighter the wear lapping marks were pretty much unchanged. Maybe it only will break up the grime and not touch the metal at all as the maker suggests. Still apprehensive about trying it on a pro horn but would not hesitate to try it again on a student model horn!

![]() | Re: STicky valve driving me nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let me say this one more time. Get in touch with your local Jupiter representative. A Jupiter dealer will know who it is and have a phone number or email address. Jupiter is very sensitive about the valve problem and will take care of you. Mike
