| Re: stomvi Well, I asume you ask for the best C in the Stomvi line, it isn't? I'm not a Stomvi player, but as Spanish, I played it and all my colleagues play it. IMO, the very best instrument is not the top model "MASTER" (but you should try it, and decide) but the "MAHLER" horn. The "Forte" is just for students. The D/Eb "MASTER" are the most beatiful Eb trumpet I ever played, but I like something else in Sound that Stomvi doesn't have. I hope I helped, |

| Re: stomvi Elite is nice too. For this price there's many other trumpets to think about. Problem is usually you should try (I mean try between diferent horns of the same brand and model too). If you can't go to a big shop and can only order per catalog... yeah, that's a problem. My prefered trumpet (without customs and expensivier horns) is of course a Bach. But Bachs are not the option, when you can't try it. A Bach "per catalog" could be a very horrible horn... Many players agree that, for buying without trying, Yamaha is the more constant company. If you like a model, you can order it, because all are the same (exception something very wrong happened to the horn). Yamaha, Chicago C, is about 2960 € (not sure). B&S hat good "Bach copies", so the Challenger II, that are really very nice, price something 1500€. But better try it. Good luck! Last edited by Albert Castillo : 01-16-2007 at 08:01 AM. |

| Re: stomvi the other day,one of my friend sent me a stomvi Bb classica model..ı tried it .ıt sounds lovely..even this model is the first model on stomvi..intonation is very good...my Bb stra bach has many intonation problems.espeacilly on si..it's always low..I like stomvi more than bach..but what do you think ..2500 or 3000 euro is too much for stomvi?or must be prefered schilke or another trumpet ? |

| Forte User | Re: stomvi Depends on how you play. Do you like how the Bach feels, despite its shortcomings intonation-wise? At 2000-3000§, you get awful close to Eclipse, and some of the other top tier horns. I would definitely keep trying around. ...PM 11thchair, or email Dr. Jim Fox at ibowtie.com. There also is a big Stomvi user on the UK Brass Forum. Mr. Stomvi, I believe is his handle. They'll give you a lot more feedback on Stomvi. I just play the picc. :) Van Last edited by Heavens2kadonka : 01-18-2007 at 11:57 PM. |

![]() | Re: stomvi I had a student who played with a lot of tension, trying out horns, and he sounded great on the Master model. With better players, (like me) I didn't notice as big a difference in sound compared to the price. Stomvis play very well in tune, and even the student Bbs reminded me of my Schilke B6 from p-ff. fff was not the same, though. My C trumpets are: a 1970's Getzen Capri with an old dave Monette tuning-bell conversion, and a Getzen Renaissance Bb bell and a B&S rotary Bb converted to C. I use a Curry B cup with cornet-length shank on both, and both sound great and are fun to play. Instead of looking for the instrument that plays the best, consider buying the one that is the most fun to play, and lets you sound like you want to. |
