| Forte User | Teatro review I had the opportunity to try this (and many others) horn out at ITG this year. It is a very responsive horn; even-blowing and versitile. I really enjoyed playing it. Put up against the Eclipse, it certainly holds its own (hmmm...wonder why? Bruce and Leigh (Hah! What irony!!! Bruce Lee and Bruce and Leigh...man...still wiped out...and getting punchy) have made the horn even more versitile by adding 2 tuning slides: one square bends and one rounded slide. With the squared bends, it has a good amount of sizzle and cutting power; rounded yields a nice sweet character. I was able to get on it pretty good and back right off with no problems. It plays open and easily in the upper register and is very easy to control. I really enjoyed it. If you're in the market for an Eclipse, but don't quite have the bread, this is the horn for you. Kudos to Bruce and Leigh for a great horn! |

| Hey, Glenn! Thank you so much for your kind words! It was a great pleasure to meet you, and to hang out together. We in the trumpet community are fortunate to share a family-like existance... and, that's just good for the soul! Prior to using my own name as my username, I was "The General", as in "General Robert E. Lee". "The General" was my nickname when I was at Eastman. Leigh and I have a great relationship, and he wonders if I truly am an American. Maybe it's because my Great Grandfather was from Leigh's homeland... who knows? Our DNA, and the DNA of the Teatro are very closely related... no doubt about it! Anyways, we've built a trumpet that we're both extremely proud of, and we were both thrilled with the response that we received at ITG! Thanks again, and please keep in touch, Glenn! Cheers! Bruce |

| teatro WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! Now that that's out of my system I would like to give a thanks to Bruce for letting me swing by his home unexpectedly and try out some horns and pick up a book I had bought from him. The teatro trumpet is amazing... I played it with both slides the square and the round...I preferred the rounded feel but could appreciate the square as it felt VERY Bach-like but with excellent intonation. The upper register is AWESOME...this horn slots G's and A's with no problems and plenty of sizzle for the commercial side of things. Dont think this horn is just a light weight commercial players horn though. Its a chamelion, BIG TIME... I was getting dark and smokey playing jazz ballads....and bold and brilliant with some legit solos Im working on. I was thinking about it a lot on my drive home and what this horn really has going for it is that it practically plays it self...! It plays sooo easy... I also played the eclipse models Bruce had in stock and prefered his TEATRO over all but one of the eclipse which was very close to being a tie... I asked bruce how he is going to market the two tuning slides...He really doesn't want to charge someone $100.00 for a slide they wont use. So do yourself a favor and try this horn and give Bruce at Northern Brass a call...If you are looking for a horn you owe it to yourself! This will quite possibly be the next horn I buy....Thanks again, Bruce... _________________ Currently teaching lessons in San Antonio, TX. For booking please call 210-269-2245. All styles of music. |
