Thein leadpipe

Dear all,

I recently had a Thein MH (Mattias Hoffs) leadpipe system put on my Bach C trumpet. It's a very interesting system because it allows you to switch leadpipes whenever you wish by just sliding the old one out and sliding the new one in. They essentially removed my original 25H pipe and attached a leadpipe sheath. Then I tried about 10 different leadpipes and chose the one I liked best. It significantly improved the trumpet and the Thein shop has about 100 different leadpipes to chose from. They're in Bremen in anyone ever has the chance to stop by. It's quite an experience. The whole deal cost me 350 euros, but now I can change pipes without any work needing to be done on the horn.

Re: Thein leadpipe

Edwards makes this a standard part of their horns.

Re: Thein leadpipe

maybe it's like the yamaha bone rig for multiple pipes where you insert them inside a fixed outer pipe sounds cool
i have 2 pipes on my trumpet soldered side by side works great
