I blew on one for a bit -- it would take some getting used to. Even knowing it was designed that way, everytime I saw it I just wanted to go over and straighten the bell out.

Quick story about the horn - I was in the bar at the ITG conference on Wednesday night waiting to listen to Mike Vax when the Mnozil Brass guy walked in (carrying his horn). I asked him if I could see it - he handed it to me and walked away! It really is an interesting horn - kinda a sideways rotary. I didn't play it, but the valve action was incredible.

Thomas also let me have his horn at the jam session. After he said "I don't even know you that well." he just smiled and gave it to me.
I was surprised at how easy the action was. It was lighter than I thought it would be also.

My Mnozil Brass DVD arrived today! woooo hooooo! These guys are wonderful. The night Thomas tore it up at the jam was amazing. He was playing the changes like a mad man! The group and Thomas were such a treat. I am a fan for sure!

I played one of these at ITG. When I asked Thomas about it, he said, "It's ... Great!"

Any USA distributors?

I tried a Gansch horn at Chuck's today when I went to get my C trumpet (yay!). I, too, was surprised by how light the valve action was.
