Trumpet Care

I found a Silver Bead Blasted Kanstul 610 online and it looks like an amazing trumpet, and judging by what some people say about this horn, it plays very well too. I am unsure whether or not I would actually get it, but I curious as how someone would go about maintaining a bead blasted instrument, as I have never seen anyone with one in real life. How would I keep it looking and playing at its best?

Liad Bar-EL is an unknown quantity at this point
Have you ever had a Kanstul before? If not, it is not only the finish that you need to be concerned about in terms of maintenance but the valves too. They recommend using the Hybrid Pro-Oil Formula 141-A7.

Just wash it with warm, soapy water and then give it a thorough rinse. If you try to "polish" bead blast you'll eventually start to bring up a shine in the surface (although not as quickly as if it were gold plated). I've sometimes used a light misting of Windex to take the odd finger smudge off of the brush finish on my Eclipse but I generally don't bother with that... the beauty of those frosted finishes is that the uniqueness of the finish tends to distract people's eyes from the odd smudge (just keep the inside of the bell nice and bright).

That's a great horn and whether bead blasted or all "bright", if the price is right, grab it!

Well, I've played trumpet for a few years now and I know general maintenance stuff. I've just never had any other finish than brass lacquer.
