 | Trumpet or Cornet Receiver for Piccolo I am looking at getting my first piccolo. I have noticed that they are available with mouthpiece receivers for either cornet or trumpet shank. Are there any pros and cons to either one? I know of course that trumpet mpcs are more widely available. I am looking for info related to playability. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Michael. |

| Hi, Michael! How are you doing? My recommendation is the trumpet mouthpiece receiver. Especially, since I happen to know your that your mouthpieces of choice are GR.  GR piccolo mouthpieces come standared with a cornet shank. The GR piccolo adapters allow you to use these mouthpieces with a trumpet mouthpiece receiver. A choice of GR Piccolo Adapters allow you to fine-tune both the Bb and A side of the piccolo, enhancing both the feel of the piccolo, and its playing characteristics.
