    Trumpet Value ?

I have an old Getzen trumpet that I would like to find out what it is worth. It is made of gold and pink colored brass. Around the bell of the horn stamped in cursive writing is : Super Deluxe Getzen Elkhart Wis Tone Balanced Stamped on the valves is the patent number : 55599. Hope someone out there can give me an idea of what this horn is worth.
I am new to this site. I'm not sure if there is a section on this site where you can put information in on a trumpet to get its value?
    Thanks,
    Lewtrump

First of all, an "Old" trumpets value is increased when referred to as "Vintage".

Now more particulars are needed. How is the valve action? Any dry rot? Are there dents, lacquer issues, or stuck slides? Did it belong to anyone famous (or infamous)?

I am not sure who all owned this trumpet before me. There is only one small dent on the trumpet. The valves all work freely and the slides all pull out. The lacquer is off on most of the gold colored brass and the silver tubing. There is no dry rot.

Check eBay's "sold" listings for Getzen Super Deluxe Tone Balanced Trumpet. That should give you some idea.

Trumpets also increase in value when you say ...

"It's the best trumpet I've every played."
"I hate to let it go, but I have to thin out the herd".
"It needs to go to a good home."
"It has some dents, but they don't affect playability."
"The condition of the horn is well-documented in the (very blurry) pictures."

Super Deluxes aren't terribly valuable. Maybe $3-600 depending on condition.

Lots of old horns...some Bachs, Some conns, A Getzen or two...
The music is in the player, not the horn. Find the sound in yourself first.

And they would have to be a Getzen guy to pay that much! Sterling SD's have gone as high as $850 +/-.

    Copra Temp SD's have gotten $700 +/-.

Regular brass, NOT CRINKLED, maybe get $300.
