| Mezzo Forte User | Tunning bell sucks Though I like very much my Spada horn which is excellent as far as playing is concerned (sound, intonation, valves etc) the tunning bell makes me crazy...Let me explain: Often (3 times till now) when I leave my trumpet on the stand if the bell holder is not screwed up to the limit the valve body is falling down and hurting wether the bell or the tunning slide. |

| Mezzo Forte User | Re: Tunning bell sucks Curiously, I never had this problem with the C trumpet, but this is probably because I use it less often on the orchestra than the B flat...I have an older colleague who is saying that this is coming of too much care for the horn |

| Mezzo Forte User | Re: Tunning bell sucks I used to to hold the horn (cause I had lost my stand) but when I decide to play two horns on the same concert this is starting to present a problem...Probably I should use the stand only when playing 2 horns...ot loose my stand again |

| Re: Tunning bell sucks put a towel on the floor beside your chair and lay your horn on that, use your stand for the other horn. Take care. Dave |

| Re: Tunning bell sucks I like dave's towel idea. if that doesn't work and you are allowed to I would bring my case with me to where I was playing either in a pit or off stage somewhere. If that isn't possible then I would agree with Manny, Ouch. |

| Mezzo Forte User | Re: Tunning bell sucks Tom, probably you are right...I used to bring the trumpet case (MB 4 trumpet case, which is quite big, but nevermind) on stage in order to put the horn on it. I will probably start doing it again as it seems the best possible solution, though it probably does not look very well. Towell is a good idea, but the stage is quite old and dusty, so I will have to bring a new towell every working day |
