2nd chair will become famous soon enough
unknown insciption

i recently purchased a bach stradivarius model new york #7, and on the outside of the ring on the 3rd valve slide there appears to be the number 548. Just wondering if anyone knew what this means or why it is there.

It is probably the last 3 digits of the serial number.
