![]() | wanting a cornet I have been playing trumpet for a while now and i want to try a cornet. I was wanting a Stomvi master cornet but i need some personal opinions about it. First, Is there any other cornet you would reccomend? what differences are there between the titanium and the origonal? I know that there has probably been 100000 posts on this question but i searched for it and couldnt find it so, What is going to be the main sound differences between my bach strad. and the stomvi? finally, the bell on the stomvi is screw on correct? is there any cons to a screw on bell? will i get used to it? sorry for so many questions but im just starting to learn more about differnt brass instruments and don't know much. |

As a soloist, it doesn't matter. In a section in the UK, there is a different sound concept than in a US based symphonic wind ensemble. What is your playing situation?

![]() | Re: wanting a cornet Bret, Bach, Getzen, Yamaha, and others make very good cornets too. I owned a Getzen 3850 and played a buddy's Bach 184. Those are the two I've played. Both are great. Can you get to a music store to try them? Make sure you give something like a Denis Wick B cup or no-letter cup a blow when it comes to mouthpieces. If you're looking for the brass band sort of sound versus dixie land. |
