![]() | Well here it is...my California Custom is done! Garry, I've gotta hand it to you. It looks just perfect! Hopefully I'll be getting this at the end of the week...it's finally done! No finish on it yet, but I'm thinking brushed lacquer, polished accents. Of course, now that I look at it...maybe I should just go with a clear lacquer? It looks good just like that...Oh, the choices. I won't get it finished until after July-Anderson's is closed. So I may just keep it raw until our Christmas break then send it off. So...what does everyone think I should do, finish wise? I'm kinda torn between brushed lacquer, polished accents, and now that I see it(somewhat), polished clear lacquer... anyway here it is... ![]() Russ

![]() | Re: Well here it is...my California Custom is done! Dylan, my initals are engraved on the top buttons. I thought, that might be a cool addition, and not to mention, if, heaven forbid, it were to get stolen...that would be a good identifying mark...

![]() | Re: Well here it is...my California Custom is done! Thanks Dale, I love your cornet, by the way. I just picked up a vintage Cuesnon from a shop for 25 bucks. I may just have to work on that thing. Thanks for the imput. All the sudden, after seeing it polished like that, I had my doubts on whether I should go the brushed lacquer route or not. It almost looks too pretty to do that to it! Anyone else wanna suggest something? Russ

![]() | Re: Well here it is...my California Custom is done! Although it will be stunning either way... I am in to that brushed look these days, for some reason. It would still maintain all the colors the other posters love...but give it some texture. Eh... like I said, this is a beaut... so you won't be dissapointed either way. Congrats man.... wow.

![]() | Re: Well here it is...my California Custom is done! Na, you don't want to cover all those dissimilar metals with silver. Then it would look like every other run-of-the-mill silver horn. Also, brushed metal with a lacquer finish looks like plastic to me.
