Smile Who plays a BACH STRAD for HEAVY lead work???

It may just me, but when I hear players talking about the BACH STRAD, it's in an orchestra (classical) setting. Two days ago hanging out in our supply room at work and decided to pull a 1994 BACH off the shelf as a joke, to blow some lead and ride book in rehearsal. WOW!!! What a KICK A$$ horn!!

It's a 74 LT bell with a 43 leadpipe. It packed a thick core and incredible projection. A very easy, free blowing trumpet with an amazing presence and just as much zing as the Z. Without changing my blow!

Why don't I ever hear of the BACH STRAD as being a GREAT lead trumpet?

Will someone list a few lead players using STRADs to help bring me from the Dark Ages?

Charlie Davis ...... I'm done!!!!!!!
PEACE!!

Don't know if I qualify as a "lead" player, certainly not in any remotely professional capacity, but I used one all through college....a Bach ML 37

I played most of my career on a Bach ML (43 Sterling and 37 Mt.V) till I got my new van Laar horn, but it's a great horn for lead. Check my clips on my site and you will hear a Bach on all my lead stuff. I use a Reeves 42ES btw.

The Bach Strad w/72 bell and 43 leadpipe is the basis of Kanstul's 1504 Signature and WB models. The big difference is build consistency as it is far more diffiult to find a "good " Strad. The sound and flexability that one can get from any of these horns is just right for lead, IMHO.

THANKS GUYS!
Between this site and the TH, I've gained much insite and respect for the BACH 72*. It's an awesome little horn for all around playing. I just was wondering why BACH always seems to take a bad rep as a lead horn. Here's something I hear alot through out my years......... "Why would anybody play lead on a BACH"? I now say, "WHY NOT"! Next time I'll just pull out a CD that features EARL GARDNER! PEACE!
