![]() Now get to work on that Eclipse Flugelhorn Fund. You're an Eclipsickle now! And let's see what John picks for HIS prize. Some very good entries this year, I'm glad I won last year.... -cw-

![]() | Re: And The Winner (s) Are......................... Man… I know I feel like a winner even though I didn’t get the prize. To actually complete my entry was no small feat (I spent almost every evening for the past several months doing something related to this contest). From researching and finding the photos of Principal Trumpet players (and their dates of tenure) that I included in my model (and getting them in an electronic format) along with cutting them all out and pasting them down was an enormous task. Researching my story was really fun, but also extremely time consuming. I really got a kick out of sending an email message to one of the guys in the New York Philharmonic trumpet section asking him how to steal photos from Avery Fisher Hall (and getting a helpful response!). I also feel like I’ve actually attended a concert at the Kennedy Center and explored the Library at Yale while I’ve never even been to those places! It’s incredible what you can discover on the Internet if you look hard enough. More than anything, I really liked making this a true TrumpetMaster.com entry by including so many people that I know from this site (some that I have met and some that I haven’t). I think I had at least a dozen TMers in my story! Building friendships on TM through my “story writing” escapades is certainly worth the effort. I’m amazed at what I was able to create by really “digging deep” and pulling out all the stops. Knowing that I did the absolute best job that I could was very satisfying indeed, and I thank all of you that complemented me on my entry. The other thing that I won is getting my evenings back! To everyone that did their best in this contest, you don’t need a prize to validate your creativity and hard work. Plus, there’s always next year!

![]() | Re: And The Winner (s) Are......................... Derek, Your story was incredible and I was really honored to have been in it. I couldn't agree with you more on all of the points you made. I too have made some REAL friendships here on this board and I'm honored that I was chosen along with Damo but I really feel it could have been anyone that entered; most entries were that good! As for me I'm still trying to decide what I want! Talk about being a kid in a Candy store; man I must have took 100 trips to Eclipse's website today!

![]() | Re: And The Winner (s) Are......................... Choose well John! You’re going to love playing on a first class instrument. I’m looking forward to seeing your picture with your new trumpet! Damian, I really want to see a picture of your contest entry next to the prize horn. Now that would be very cool! Enjoy your new toys guys!

![]() | Re: And The Winner (s) Are......................... Hi All It was one of the most difficult contests to choose winners for this year! I always feel so bad as it could in my mind been any one of 9 or so entries this year. We have to come to a rest on someone at some point or we would simply keep going around in circles. The Eclipse team voting all refused to change their vote! including myself which left us with 2 winners. Their was no clear winner as such, only that we had to seperate the prizes somehow so that was done with the toss of a coin. My wife thinks that derek should be a writer as she read his entry around 15 times! My daughter liked the dog cr-p picture best, because she is almost 3 years old she thought that the offending article was chocolate which was always going to be the winner in her mind of course. Thanks must go to all the entrants for joining in and spending their valuable time with their entries. Eventually i will get around to making you all free trumpets i guess!! Therefore i am about to start and register the Leigh Mckinney " i am as poor as hell charity fund" please give very generously via paypal . Thanks once again to Trumpetmaster and Tootsall without which the contest could not go ahead. Thanks Guys Damo i must inform you that the picture of the prize was only of a trumpet i made several years ago. I was showing this pic to give you an idea of what can be done. JUST KIDDING! HAHAHAHA John you have some serious thinking to do! will it be a trumpet, cornet or flugel gig bag? HAHAHAHA i can't stop myself sorry Best Wishes to all Leigh
