![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Work on your horn? I would NOT change the leadpipe or add weights. Valve alignment, finish, tuning bell mod (this has straightened out the intonation on every Bach C trumpet that I have ever played with the mod! Push the tuning slide all the way in and just tune with the bell) A sound post to replace the missing brace is required in exactly the same location. I like Amato water keys better than the standard ones |

| Re: Work on your horn? I would like to spend time with a good tech and adjust the bell braces [both front and back] to get any tension removed from the horn. Dave |

If I could have my present Spada set up with braces and no tuning bell, but normal tuning (as opposed to bell tunning) I would do that....It will make me less anxious about using trumpet stand...Otherwise, I am perfectly happy with my horn...I would be curious though what will happen if I had the same model bell but rimless and red brass or copper...and may be a copper leadpipe....I would be really curious to try that.... | Re: Work on your horn? This cornet I just bought on eBay needs some work. How about: A NOS bell, because someone buffed most of the engraving off this one, a NOS leadpipe, because this one has a sleeve/patch on it, and a general overhaul/relacquer job. The valves (other than needing new corks and felts) are in good shape, though! $29 well spent..... ![]() |
