![]() | yamaha 2310 flugel - any one has / had one? I found a yamaha 2310 flugelhorn, and wondered if it is any good. new price is around 1000 dollars, I can get it for 400 Euros. (8 years old, including mp and case, no major damage) is it worth it? does anyone have it? |

I have a 2310 flugel and I am also a Hollander, even though I reside in The U.S.A.. I love mine and have compared it to several other major name flugels. The valves are great, the tone is superlative and the intonation is no worse than most other flugels. My only complaint is that there is no method for adjusting the first or third slide for intonation while playing. I intend, in the near future, to have an adjustment trigger installed on the third valve slide and on the first valve slide. This is a fairly inexpensive modification and in my opinion will put the 2310 in the same class as almost any top of the line flugel. Mine came with a Yamaha 11F4 mouthpiece which gives it an exceptional tone. Be aware that these deep vee cup mouthpieces make for a bit of difficulty in the upper register, but, with proper lip conditioning I have no major problems up to a C above the staff. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: yamaha 2310 flugel - any one has / had one? At current exchange rate that's around $540. That's a good price for the YFL2310 in roughly new condition. I had the same horn (the very same one) and loved it, but after I got a Kanstul 1525 I traded it. veery |

In the event that your translation skills are a bit rusty, my 2310 used to belong to Veery. Thanks, Veery. I am more than pleased with 'my' flugel. OLDLOU>>

![]() | Re: yamaha 2310 flugel - any one has / had one? I had a 231 for 20 years. It played sharp on low D which was a problem with no 3rd valve tuning and the arrangements always seemed to require lot of those. Otherwise it played very well. I sold it to buy a 631G. |
