my dad surprised my yesterday he bought me a new trumpet! it will arrive in a few days. i am going to be a sophomore in high school, right now i have a student yamaha trumpet, the trumpet my dad bought for me is a ytr 4335 GS, i looked it up it is an intermediate model trumpet, is it really going to be much differnet from my student model, except for that it is silver and new?

Generally, Yamaha produces incredibly consistent instruments...with that said, I had a friend that played on and off for awhile, and had the 4335. I tried it, and was blown away at how well it played...intonation was excellent, and workmanship was flawless. It played on the same level, if not better than many "pro" instruments I have played. Given Yamaha's track record, I wouldn't expect yours to play any differently, and if that's the case, it should be a fine playing horn that will serve you well.
