![]() | Yamaha Artist Trumpets I got to play the New York Bb and C, as well as the Chicago Bb and C, and the "Wayne Bergeron" LA model Yamaha last week. They all played really really well. This is the 3rd time I've played the Bergeron horn -- but this one was a production model -- the others were prototypes. Lots of people will like this horn. As for the artist models, I guess it shows what a confusing world it is that my two favorites were the NY C and the Chicago Bb. The NY C responded instantly for me, and had a deep, rich sound. The Chicago Bb played very easily, had great intonation, and the tone sparkled. The design concept (a Bb that plays and sounds more like a C trumpet) has been successfully executed. GT

![]() | Hi Mike -- you might give the NY C a blow. I think what I liked about it was that it had a big, core-rich sound -- that didn't instantly scream "C trumpet" at you. GT
