![]() | Yamaha Chicago Bb trumpet Has anyone played this trumpet? Just curious. This is one I haven't had the pleasure of trying. Thanks!

![]() | Re: Yamaha Chicago Bb trumpet Yes, I currently use a Chicago Bb as my Bb. I have been playing it for the past two to three years. I find that it is an excellent instrument and works very well for me in all ways. I replaced a Bach 37 with it, and find that the intonation, projection, sound or tone to be excellent, and rather free blowing. The horn seems to slot very well and does everything that I want it to do. If you are thinking of buying one I suggest that you try a number of them. I tried 5 different Bbs before I chose this one. Although Yamaha has a better consistancy than most others you can run into small differences which will lead you to what is the best for you. |

To me there is no question that they are great horns, but for me the question is how much is it worth to have a horn that is "that" much better. | |
