![]() | Yamaha YTR-8310ZBP Limited Edition Black Lacquer Bb Trumpet with Custom Phoenix Engra I came accross this trumpet yesterday. It caught my eyes like BAM! as if it slapped me in the face. I personally thinks it looks beatiful. Unfortunately there aren't many pictures out there in the internet world. If you have any inside scoop on this trumpet please share. :)

![]() | Re: Yamaha YTR-8310ZBP Limited Edition Black Lacquer Bb Trumpet with Custom Phoenix E The black laq. seems cool at first, but to use it, in a band or orchestra, daily, you will become the black sheep. |

Different story if your in something like a Salsa Band- lead. If I could get one small enough, and light enough to hang on my Christmas tree, I'd get one. Last edited by Bachstul; 07-13-2009 at 03:44 PM.

![]() | Re: Yamaha YTR-8310ZBP Limited Edition Black Lacquer Bb Trumpet with Custom Phoenix E I have played two of the Phoenix's and they play exactly the same as a regular 8310Z in lacquer. Great horns but I a not sure sure about the black lacquer ;) The engraving is nice and subtle but it is pretty cool. |

There are band and orchestra conductors at all levels who might have an issue with how a horn looks - a thread about someone wanting to play their Monette (raw brass) in church and meeting with resistance from the MD can be found on one of these forums. So that is the person to consult before you show up with a non-standard-looking horn. veery
