| Z horn and Schilke S42L Anyone have any experience in comparing the playing characteristics of a Yamaha 6310 Z to a Schilke S42L or even a fixed bell S42. Any thoughts, ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated. Natejavascript:emoticon(' |

| I have played them both. To me, the 6310 Z plays and feels more like a B6 than the S42. It has, to me, a thinner sound than either the B6 or the S42. I think the S42 is a little stiffer than the B6 with a little more centered sound. In my opinion the 6310 Z does not favorably compare with the S42 or the B6. This is re: an S42, not the S42L Also, there is just something about how the Schilke FEELS in your hands. -cw- |
