| Forte User | Re: 1907 Holton Collegiate Trumpet Yes, that was Tom's guess on an earlier post. It would be a LeBlanc, I believe. They are still making that model,T602,but I have seen references to them as far back as 76. Wiki indicates Holton is still a division of LeBlanc, purchased initially in 1964, later incorporated into Conn-Selmer in 2004, then swallowed by Steinway corp, now the parent. They still produce horns under the labels of Holton, Farkas, Merker , and Collegiate. As far as the serials, I don't know. As Tom speculated, maybe they started over at some point which would result in an earlier production number as your's might be a 70's horn.

![]() | Re: 1907 Holton Collegiate Trumpet I agree, I think this is a Leblanc horn. Would love to have the serial list one day to know for sure the date. Thanks to you and Tom for helping me figure this out. It was a fun exercise :) so I have another question, the finish is in terrible shape. Any good ideas on how to clean it up? |

| Forte User | Re: 1907 Holton Collegiate Trumpet Glad to help. What I have done with some bad lacquer horns is to strip the lacquer off (many threads here) and polish the raw brass with MAAS metal pollish, or the like, then use some car wax to protect it further, as some do. Others, I have left alone. You might send conn-selmer an email with your question on the serials, but they might not have the records. The last Holton list ends at 1980 at 558xxx, the rest are a mystery.

![]() | Re: 1907 Holton Collegiate Trumpet ok, I'll look at stripping and polishing it. I doubt there is much lacquer left on it anyway. This thing shows every minute of its life. :) Even the scribed Holton name on the bell is partially worn away. thanks again. |
