screamingmorris has a spectacular aura about
alucard strikes again

The eBay seller who calls himself "alucard49" ("Dracula" spelled backwards) has put in the winning bid on a beautiful 1953 Conn 22B
(the seller emailed us photos of the bell indicating that it is in fantastic condition with original lacquer completely intact on the bell).

Now "alucard" is going to bead-blast the finish off of that beautiful 1953 Conn 22B so that it looks like the other raw-brass bead-blasted monstrosities that he has created:

I'm so mad I could spit.

Re: alucard strikes again

I am with you Morris and have posted about the treatment he gives otherwise restorable vintage horns. The one that upset me most recently was a nice Vega he ruined. The general feedback that I got was support for Alucard and comments that "I should have bid more."

Well I could have but the real problem is that people continue pay 3-10 times more than the horn would have fetched before his treatment. So, unless people quit paying him to do this he will keep on ruining ould classic horns.

I tried to buy a horn from him at a profit over what he paid but without the treatment. He would not take the offer and eventually sold the horn for more than what I was ble to offer. It must be relatively inexpensive to perform his treatment.

The otherthing that bothers em is his claim to be selling off a collection when in reality he is just buying and reselling. Kind of misleading but people still pay the price and seem to be happy from his rating.
