B&H 400 Boosey and Hawkes. Help?

Hi,
I am fairly new to the site and don't have a great deal of knowledge on the subject of trumpets/cornets.
My family have always loved and played trumpets and as the youngest I was no different.
In 1999 I bought a "B&H 400 made for Boosey and Hawkes".
I pretty much gave up on the whole musical instrument scene in 2003 as sports took up a lot more of my time.

I have now been approached as to selling my cornet.
I know the 400's are not the best cornets around but I found it to be an excellent cornet to learn on as a child and teenager.

How much should I ask for when selling?
It was played for 4 years and is in near pristine condition in original case and with original invoice.
No repairs have been done and there are no dents or scratches.

It depends on where you are,...UK(?)

Also depends on where it was made. The B&H400 was made in at least three different locations and to at least two separate designs.

Some 400 cornets (and trumpets) were trully awful instruments! However, some others were actually superb value for money. The Taiwainese model with a layout like a getzen eterna is good instrument and worth about £100 in good condition. The others from £50 to £80,..these are aproximates, have a look at ebay as they come up quite often.

£150 would be a very fair price to you,...if you can get it!

......Personally, I would not pay more than £100 top whack,..and I don't recommend my young cornet players to pay more as there then begin to be better alternatives for a little more money.

i did not appreciate that exclamation mark.
nevertheless your feedback has been gratefully received.
I will go ahead and ignore it and not sell for less than £150 but thanks anyway.
