    Bach Mt. Vernon C trumpet

    Hello, all;
    BACH MOUNT VERNON C TRUMPET WITH CASE NR USED - eBay (item 380073556678 end time Oct-23-08 21:14:03 PDT)
    This listing is on ebay, and it doesn't look like a C to me. I've seen many Mt. Vernon C's, and none of them looked like this. However, it does look like an Eb or D, based on the proportion of the bell to valve body etc.

    Either this is a completely different and unique horn, or I'm just mistaken

    Though you might find it interesting.

    It does kind look like a D or Eb trumpet BUT the third slide is extended so maybe it's a C trumpet with a long tuning slide, since the first slide is too long for a D or Eb trumpet.

    The trumpet is a C trumpet no doubt. Long C tuning slide, the spare slides do appear to be for a D set...

    It's a D/C trumpet. I own one.

    If the seller does not respond to questions, I certainly would not even place a bid.

    Those all make sense, with the optional tuning slides. Cool horn, I'd never seen one with the extra slides, so it had me a bit confused.

    TMers,

    Whenever you see a trumpet in two keys please remember that a horn can only be lengthened, not shortened. a C/D trumpet is thus a D trumpet with additional C slides. Ditto a D/Eb (Eb), F/G (G), etc.

    Best,
    EC
