BESSON BREVETE cornet SERIAL 234600

I'm trying to find out anything about this horn, when it was made, what kind of qualities it might hold (student line, or pro) and perhaps when it was made can anyone help me?

BESSON BREVETE cornet SERIAL 234600
Does it have any other writing on the bell? The serial number puts it between 55-60. I have a Besson 8-10 trumpet from that era that plays very well. I also have a Besson 8-10 cornet from 67 that is in good shape and has a dark tone. Besson made different models for years for the American market. I am talking English Besson that I have, not French Besson. Most of the American intended ones have the same basic construction, I think. Stratford was another English Besson student line. Brevete means Patented in French. Maybe you can supply some more info on the horn? Dave

the horn does say that it is made in england and does have a star on the bell also. when looking further into it myself the serial number, you're right, places it in the 50's im still curious what tones it might provide for me.

You make the "tones," not the horn.
