Besson Cornet 10-10

Hi,

I recently won an ebay special and I was wondering if anyone knew ANYTHING about this instrument.
The serieal # is 406485. I can't seem to find any information about it online.

Blimey!!!?!!

You bought one of the best cornets EVER made by any maker for less the two hundred quid!!!!

If you ever get tired of it I'll be pleased to take it off of your hands!

Bye the way, some of the bits are wrongly assembled.

Derek Garside used to play one of those. he was principal cornet of CWS Manchester Band when it was the best band in the world and he was the best cornet player.

Congrats! There was a thread on this horn a short while back, either here or on Trumpetherald, concerning whether it was the "real thing" or not. I remember because this one is missing the rear trigger mechanism.

Nice cornet. Very similar in appearance to my Besson International (late 1960's).
A pity you have to sell it.

By the way, my ex-wife told me to choose between her and my cornets...

I was thinking the same thing (I too have a late 60s Besson International)

Don't think I'd get $1200 for it though.

True. I bought my International for £550 (approx. $842) last summer.
