CG Conn Trumpet ID

Hello TrumpetMasters, I have a CG Conn LTD Elkhart, IND-USA trumpet that I need some help with. It has an engraved bell (with a floral pattern), and is marked with the serial number 406621. It seems that its from the 1953 to 1954 era, although that's what I came up with. The case is well worn, and the trumpet seems to be in very good condition. There is minimal wear, and it doesn't seem to need much. I would like to know the model number and the approximate value. I have a few pictures: http://i644.photobucket.com/albums/u...8/DSC00944.jpg http://i644.photobucket.com/albums/u...8/DSC00945.jpg http://i644.photobucket.com/albums/u...8/DSC00946.jpg http://i644.photobucket.com/albums/u...8/DSC00947.jpg

According to the Conn Loyalist your horn is a Conn Conquerer, model 48B, AKA the Vocabell. A very fine and highly sought after instrument.

Re: CG Conn Trumpet ID

I just love the aerodynamic, industrial look of those water keys - actually I love everything about this model and am drooling on my keyboard as I type. You are a lucky soul to have one - and in such good condition, too.

Re: CG Conn Trumpet ID

Yes it looks gold plated, but I am not sure. The plating is in great shape, some scratches, and no dents that I can see. Even the finish on the inside of the bell is nice. The valves seem to be good, only one sticks a little. They have the mother of pearl on the keys. It is definitely a beautiful piece. I have confirmed that it is a 48B, but you already knew that.
Thanks for the info.
