![]() | Conn 60B valve springs Hi I wonder if anybody can help me. This is my first post so please be gentle. I have a Conn 60B trumpet - its great but I would like to replace the valve springs. I have had a look on the "the bandroom.biz" website where they offer a number of rebuild kits - but no 60B. Could anyone tell me what the appropriate kit is. My valve looks like this: The Conn Loyalist From the photos on the website it is quite difficult to gauge this spring size Thanks in advance Alex *********************** *********************** Olds Amabassador Trumpet x 2 Olds Ambasador Cornet Olds Custom C Trumpet Conn 60B Conn 1000B Severinson Getzen Eterna "Serverison" Besson Sovereign Cornet Besson 700 Cornet Elkart Flugel Ryton Berkley D-Eb |

![]() | Re: Conn 60B valve springs Hi Alex, You could try what I did with my Conn, there were three different shaped springs fitted, two of them real delapidated but one of them was the original and in reasonable condition. I took the instrument to my local repairers, McQueens in Manchester, they are an excellent company and very reasonable, I asked if they could get hold of some new springs and they replied, "No need, we'll wind you a set up" and thats exactly what they did. The valves are a different type to yours, they are bottom sprung, but if you have at least one original, you might be able to find a repairer who can wind you a set using the original example as a guide. The springs wound for me by McQueens by the way are excellent so if you cant source new, this is maybe a possibility for you. Good luck Brian
