Conn Wonder Cornet

I've already posted that I got the horn in the "what did you get for christmas" thread, but now that I've played the horn a bunch I'm really impressed

Wonderful sound, the Clarke solos seem to play better than on my Bb(I wonder why )

It is a very small bore (the Conn 1/2 bore) but doesn't play that way, its more open than my ML Bb, has anyone else noticed this about these horns?

Also take a look and see if you can find a number stamped on the mp receiver. I have a 1926 84A, which is the small bore version of the 80A. I'll be curious to see what you've got. Sadly, mind is not yet playable, but it is on my tech's list for refurbishing starting in the spring.

Re: Conn Wonder Cornet

Its a 1900 era-model,
it says new york wonder on the bell, but the conn loyalist describes it as a "wonder" model...

So here are some pictures (sorry, there aren't very good...Classrooms have very bad lighting for this sort of thing apparently)
