Does anyone know what this is or how to play it?

Delinot - Brass Trumpet - made in France - eBay (item 160344840171 end time Jul-06-09 12:15:17 PDT)[url]
This came up on ebay. I have never seen anything like it and other than the fact that it has 8 keys/valves(?) which may be equivalents to the 8 valve combinations (counting OPEN amd both the 1-2 and the 3-only) on a regular trumpet, it is not apparent how this might be played. Does it require both hands to activate the keys? If so, how can it be held steady?

A toy : only 8 tones, C D E F G A B C, produced by 8 little metal reeds like in harmonicas. A good gift for your most hated neighbour's kids.
