Elkhart Buescher Coronet

Hi-- Can enybody tell about the Coronet I have just came into possesion of?
It has engraving that says "ELKHART--BUILT BY BUESCHER--ELKHART IND.
The serial number is 103887. The valves are number 1 - 2 - 3. The middle valve has the number 56C. If anybody can give me some information as to age I would greatly appreciate it.

Probably mid-50s. Hard to tell without seeing a picture of the horn and the case, including the literature.

If you have the original instruction booklet, there's likely a date on the back cover.

In my 'accumilation' of cornets and trumpets I also have a stencil cornet made by Buescher with the model 56C. If yours has an underslung mail tuning slide it is the same as mine. They were a student grade cornet which was a patent infrigement on the Foster Reynolds design, also the same design as was used in the making of the King Master MOdel cornet.
