| Heartbreaker Well it finally happened. I'm posting this, I guess, as therapy. I teach at a music store in the Columbus area (go Bucks!) Whenever a new student comes in, I'm curious what type of horn he's playing. Occasionally something interesting shows up. Well, last week this 7th grader shows up with a LA Benge large bore. I've been looking for one of these horns for a while but haven't had the money to do anything about one. I watched this kid abuse the horn for the half hour he was there. Mauling the poor thing, treating it like an old toy, waving it around, pretending it was a machine gun and playing terrible with little or no hope for improvement. He blows his cheeks out further than Dizzy and doesn't want to change it. When the lesson was done, I talked to the mother. She's aware they have a good horn and got a great deal on it. I told her that if they wanted to sell it for any reason (ie the kid may quit Well, thanks for letting me get this off my chest. |
