I have an Olds trumpet from circa 1968 which has the Recording valve block (offset 2nd valve, forward balanced) but it has no engraving. It is silver plated. The third valve has a trigger. Serial #669462. Since I cannot imagine removing or filling in engraving I figure it had none originally. Can anyone shed light on this horn?

Re: Help with ID on Olds Recording It might have a factory replacement bell. I once had the bell on a Holton trumpet replaced with a new bell from the factory, and the new bell was delivered to my repair tech with no engraving.

Re: Help with ID on Olds Recording That sounds like a likely scenario, someone dropped the horn a long time ago, had someone fix it with a silver plate bell.....Does it seem to play in tune?

Re: Help with ID on Olds Recording The Olds horn has excellent intonation. It had a valve alignment before I got it. It is in terrific condition too - nearly as clean as a new horn, so maybe someone had a whole slew of things done to it. I could post a picture if that might help.
