Another option which may make sense would be to find another Ambassador in good shape ($150-$200 or so), and send it off to a high-end technician for a very thorough servicing and valve alignment (around $200, plus dent removal if needed). When it comes back in prime playing condition, her current Ambassador could then be 'demoted' to marching/pep band duty, or you could just sell it to defray the costs of the job. I use and recommend Ken Larson's Brasswerks, and others here on TrumpetMaster have had fantastic work done by Charlie Melk and also by the Kanstul shop. I'm sure other forum members could suggest other shops.
