![]() | How to describe your horn. Well, on the way home from church this afternoon, I was trying to explain the difference in my trumpets. Since my cute little bride works at an automobile dealership, I tried to explain in terms she could understand. Now, you have to know, I love ALL my horns. So, after lots of conversation and laughter, this is what we decided: My Bach Stradivarius trumpet is a Caddilac. My Bach Strad Flugel horn is a Caddilac Escalade. The Holton 48 is a Corvette. My Getzen Super Deluxe is a Mercury Cougar, needs body work, valve job. The Martin cornet is a Dodge Dart. The Jaubert Eb horn is a Ford F250 4x4, needs body work, runs great! |

![]() | Re: How to describe your horn. A Conn is a Model T? The car that was made so cheaply, the passenger side "door" was painted on? I think we have a few 22B, 2B, 40B, etc. owners here who would have a problem with that.

![]() | Re: How to describe your horn. Model T?!!! I find that offensive. I am gonna save all my spit valve juice for the miscreant who would dare to make such unenlightened remarks. I FART IN YOUR GENERAL DIRECTION! HA! May be time for more prozac... Excuse me. |

![]() | Re: How to describe your horn. Good for you! But I find that, as far as gaseous expulsions go, red kidney beans are far more effective than prozac! In the meanwhile, how would you describe your horns in gearhead terms??? |

![]() | Re: How to describe your horn. My Conn 80A is like a Snap-On wrench set... Beautiful in her own way and beats Craftsman, plus saves a lot of skin of my knuckles. My Getzen 300 trumpet... Gets the job done in a pinch, kinda like a Rambler with fold-down seats. My Bach Mercedes II Cornet... (Edited: pretty funny, but a little inappropriate for the TM) My 2 Buescher True-Tones (1920-ish)... Set your phaser to stun, Damn it! 1965 Olds Special Cornet... Reminds me of my a3 VW (non-GTI) Golf from back in the day. It can spank the hell out of an automatic Camaro, especially if corners are involved. 1940 King Master Cornet... This horn is looser than the prom queen. Lemme get back to ya after she's had a valve-job (and a few shots). 1971 Conn Director Coprion... Hit it harder, it'll fit! The horn is a beast, and beat to hell. If your dog was this ugly, you'd shave his face and train him to walk backwards. He could sing Pavarati from his anus, though. 1950 Olds Ambassador Cornet... Not so sure, just bought her cheap to flip a profit. Wanna buy? =) Last edited by Schwab; 11-02-2009 at 10:31 AM. |
