Imperial FRANKLIN cornet (vintage)

I have what appears to be a very old imperial cornet. It was my Great-Grandfather's and it was passed down to me when he passed away almost ten years ago. I have only spent a small amount of time playing it, but it has a great tone and seems to be very well built, so I do not believe it to be a student model. Also, the serial number appears to be "hand carved". Does anyone know any information regarding the "Franklin" series of Imperial cornets, or at least where I could begin looking for some info? Thanks so much for any help you can give me.

Re: Imperial FRANKLIN cornet (vintage)

Welcome to the forum! Here is the JW Pepper cornet page from Horn-u-copia , one of which is an Imperial, thought to be an import made by Boland and Fuchs. Does yours have a foreign country maker stamped somewhere? Specifications on instrument # I didn't see any reference to a Franklin on that site, but have heard the name before. Maybe some photos would help.
