As of yesterday, there were 3 Conn 24A flügelhorns [the Swiss Willson-made ones] for sale at once. Given that the instrument is hard to come by, this is somewhat noteworthy...

Nice video summary! I have been many times amazed at the number of times things come up in twos or threes on ebay. There are at least two or three CONN slide cornets listed right now. For years there were none. A while ago it was early 19teen long cornet/trumpets. I attribute this to human behavior. At any given time how many people are doing exactly the same thing you are, even if what you are doing is somewhat unusual? It's an energy that travels in waves. If you miss the first one hang tight, there will be an echo.

Very True Bochawa!!! I oftentimes am looking for a particular model or brand of trumpet and I won't see it for months, then all of a sudden 5 or 6 will pop up in a week. Odd but interesting :)

Ditto,I have looked at all of them. Would like to have another one. Not in the cards right now. Till I get some debt paid off,which my S.S. starting last of July, will help a lot. Should be in much better E-Bay buying position around early winter or first of next year. Want to try out a Olds Recording Trumpet. Looking forward to Wondra's review of his horns in May.

These doubler Flugels to me, play very nice, are light weight, and easy to hold. Should play right up there with the older Yamaha 631/731 flugels. With .433 bore, is a similar French Courtois/Couesnon designed and sounding Flugel. Old timer has had his up for sale for a long time. These may be sleeper Doubler Flugelhorns.

Swiss Willson are still making them today,in the same .433 bore/.415 bore,same design, now offered in upper valve spring action with tuning apparatus and choice of plating. Last retail price I saw for a basic one, without shipping,was around $3000.00. May be higher now,with the bad economy.

Was planning to try the correct Kanstul new type mouthpipe and a Kanstul Flugelhorn M.P. with the Swiss DEG one I had. Never quite figured out what taper mouthpiece my DEG one took. The Getzen Flugel horn m.p. that was with it,seemed to not fit correctly. The Conn Swiss made ones came with it's own Conn M.P..

Thanks! It's also interesting to note that there were four LA Benge pocket trumpets on eBay this morning, plus a Kanstul pocket trumpet! I also recorded that, and will post it on YouTube later [although processing a 1.5 GB AVI video takes ~3 hours]...

I guess it's a marketing tool on the part of the sellers, and the $750 flugel looked pretty good, and it'll hopefully be cheaper if it is relisted...it's much better than a Chinese Bach Aristocrat FH600 for $854.10 or that same model [Taiwan or unknown origin] for $949.

Too bad that never happens with Conn 9As...
