![]() | Martin Handcroft Cornet SN: 127950 Hello All! I have inherited this Cornet from my grandfather. I am interested in selling it to a collector or someone who would take good care of it. Unfortunately i have no clue to its value or to what it would take to restore. Could someone point me in the right direction as to its value, etc? I've uploaded some pictures which should be of use. If you need others, please let me know. http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/4977/img4596o.jpg http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/5342/img4597tc.jpg http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/8270/img4601in.jpg Last edited by Revo33; 10-08-2009 at 03:31 PM. |

| Forte User | Re: Martin Handcroft Cornet SN: 127950 Welcome to the forum. The cornet is a 1938 Martin Imperial Handcraft cornet, a good quality instrument. I see the lacquer and the nickel plating are in very worn condition. If the valves move properly , not badly worn and the slides move freely it might make $200-400. Martins have a lot of interest over most of their history. A mid-30's one sold on ebay for $340, but appeared to have little wear. There is another one currently listed starting bid of $19.95. You could list the cornet in the classifieds here on TM or take your chances on ebay, describing it well and you might get a buyer would appreciate it and put it to good use. You could also take it to a music store tech for an evaluation of condition before you list it.
