Miles Davis: Martin Committee or Imperial flugelhorn?

Hi,

There seems to be some dispute about, or at least differing opinions as to which flugelhorn Miles uses on the Miles Ahead / Porgy & Bess recordings. Some say Martin Committee, some say Martin Imperial, and yet others seem to think it's some Besson model? Some clarification would be much appreciated!

Re: Miles Davis: Martin Committee or Imperial flugelhorn?

Thanks! I have seen this and it definitely seems likely that this is the one Miles plays. However, the Imperial looks the same and has been claimed by some to be the horn he used. But I guess we can trust in Miles' commitment to the committee

Generally, what is there to say about these two horns? How do they play and sound, how do they compare individually, and are any of them worth having for any other reason than that Miles played such a horn?
