| Mezzo Piano User | my eBAY Ambassador! Nice surprise, for under $100! No dents, playable, all there, with surprising tone. 50/50 laquer makes it look either real vintage or nasty, depending on your point of view. EZ to remove the remaining laquer & polish up? Who's got the skinny on old (1958-59) Olds laquer removal? Thanks, gregc |

![]() | Congrats on getting a fun horn! I've got three Olds trumpets going back to '47, and three Olds cornets back to '51. They're great and easy to hot rod if you feel the need. To take the lacquer off one of mine I went to Lowe's and picked up a can of lacquer remover from the shelf, and it seemed to work well. Ferree's Tools also makes a Cold Stripper that is supposed to be pretty good, too. If you use chemicals just make sure to wear gloves, eye protection and be in a well ventilated spot! Good luck with the lacquer removal! Bill |
