    My Vintage Horn comes Tomorrow

    Hi Guys.
I wanted to go back to horn blowing a long time and I decided I wanted to go back to horn blowing, so off I went to find a nice shiney horn, then one of the lads on here told me about a horn looking for a good home, I am now awaiting delivery tomorrow of a 1956 Boosey & Hawkes Emporer, not shiny at all, rather dull looking with lacquer missing but to me I have fallen in love with I lol, I bet the workmanship is wonderful and the sound lovely. I have never had an Emperor so I am looking forward to cleaning it and putting new springs and pads in it.
    Cheers

There is NOTHING like waiting for that parcel truck to come rumbling down the street.

I am like a 63 yr old kid at Christmas eve, I went out today and bought the Yamaha Silent Brass mute, so I can practice as much as I want whilst the Kommandant watches her Coronation St and Poirot.... Last horn I had was 43 yrs ago, but I have always kept my lip in as Regimental Bugler I also play in a Regimental band for the last 6 yrs, using a 5c or a 3c depending how I feel. wont be able to sleep tonight,

Congratulations on the new horn! Would love to see pics, after the horn arrives.

I just purchased a new-for-me horn, too. Waiting for it to ship.

I noticed BBM has a new signature, "Constant N+1 & N-1 in progress".

Not sure I agree. Does "N-1" even exist? And if so, can it co-exist peacefully with "N+1"?
