![]() | old martin horn...need info. Hello all, I have recently aquired a vintage looking martin horn. I am not sure if it is a trumpet, coronet or flugelhorn. I would like to know first what kind of horn it is, second what year it was made and third approximate worth as I am going to consign it for someone. The serial on the second valve is 8259 and there is a two underneath that. Here are the pictures http://i796.photobucket.com/albums/y...shop/horn1.jpg http://i796.photobucket.com/albums/y...shop/horn2.jpg http://i796.photobucket.com/albums/y...shop/horn3.jpg http://i796.photobucket.com/albums/y...shop/horn4.jpg http://i796.photobucket.com/albums/y...shop/horn5.jpg Thanks Matt |

| Forte User | Re: old martin horn...need info. Welcome to the Forum. Your horn looks to be a "S curve" cornet, shepherd's crook style from 1927-28, per serial lists. http://www.dallasmusic.org/gearhead/...Committee.html Here is some info on Martin, some which is reliable. You can also join up a www.horn-u-copia.net and look thru the Martin material there. I don't know what it is worth. It is an earlier model before introduction of more valuable models. Ebay is the best determinant. A photo of the other side of the cornet, full length would be helpful. You might do an advanced search on ebay completed sales for Martin cornets. http://www.dillonmusic.com/HeleoCart...Page/9104.aspx This looks to be a similar model offered by Dillons.
